Hello, I am Olivia
I work as a project manager. I am a parent. An expat living in Mountain View, United States.
A few years back, I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term contract gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Started
Moving to United States wasn’t part of the long-range plan. Like many international assignments, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something much larger.
The initial months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks felt harder than they should.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of learning on the job. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found places that suited us, met other families, and started building something that felt steady.
Why I Built CrystalMeadowPad
Most online information was either corporate relocation advice or superficial tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site exists to bridge that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in United States.
